Register with a GP

Posted 2 weeks ago

An important reminder for your arrival to-do list

Coventry University Medical Centre is at the heart of our campus in The Hub, so you're never far away if you need something checked out by a GP.

We recommend adding 'register with a GP' to your arrival to-do list! Even if you don't get ill very often, it's better to have the safety net, and it also means you'll get seen quicker!

Online registration

To register with the Medical Centre (situated on the 2nd floor in The Hub), you can register online. The online form should take about 10 minutes to complete and around 2 working days to confirm your registration. You'll need access to your NHS number (if you've had a GP in England before), which you can find on NHS letters, prescriptions and on the NHS app.

Towards the end of September, every year during fresher's weeks, representatives from the Medical Centre will be in The Hub whilst you are registering for your course to help you with GP registration.

International Students

If you're an international student studying a course of 6 months or more with us, you are eligible for full health care (excluding dental treatment) under the NHS, and you can register with the Coventry University Medical Centre.

After you have registered

Once you are registered, if you need help with a non-urgent medical or admin request, you can now contact the medical centre online

Opening hours during term time: Monday to Friday, 8am-6:30pm

For opening hours outside of term time, please see their website.

You will also be able to access services at Engleton House Surgery (the main branch) in Radford.

If you experience a mild or minor medical issue, you can get advice from a pharmacist with no appointment required.

Make sure you register with a GP and dentist before your arrival, so you have easy access to support and healthcare as soon as you need it - please don't wait until you're ill!
