If you have a disability, learning difficulty or long-term illness, we can support you during your time at university. We can offer you different options such as individual exam arrangements, specialist equipment loans, one-to-one mentoring, and more.
We can provide advice and support to those who have one or more of the following disabilities:
- Specific learning difficulties (SpLD), dyslexia, dyspraxia, dyscalculia, or ADHD
- Autism
- Mobility impairments
- Physica; disabilities
- Sensory impairments
- Long-term medical conditions
How can I access initial support?
All you need to do to access initial support is contact us so we can correctly assess the support and reasonable adjustments you may need. You can do this as soon as you have your university login.
FAQs
A PEEP, or a Personal Emergency Evacuation Plan, is to assist any person who may have difficulty evacuating from a Coventry University Group building or facility in the event of an emergency such as a fire. If you believe you will require a PEEP, you can contact the Student Wellbeing Team.
Coventry University have been working closely with AccessAble to provide you with a detailed access guide for all of our buildings and services around campus.
If you're a student with a learning difficulty, health problem or disability, you might be eligible for a Disabled Students' Allowance (DSA).
How to apply:
If you're applying for other types of student finance, you'll only need to apply for a DSA once. Otherwise, you'll need to apply each year. If you've already applied for student finance, sign in to your account to start your application.
The application should be on your 'to-do list' if you chose DSA in your application for other support. If it isn't, select 'change your circumstances' to apply.
If you haven't applied for student finance, you can apply for DSA when you apply for student finance online.
If you have any questions or queries, you can contact the Student Wellbeing Team. We want to make your university experience the best it can be and provide support wherever we can!
